My Great Great Grandfather bought it new as war surplus to use as a farm truck. My grandparents now own it and it will be passed down to me when they can no longer drive.

Sweet, it has aged beautifully, the patina suits it well.

Doesn't look too bad for 70 year old paint eh? It was parked inside every night of its life and was stored in a dry barn since the 70s until 2012 when it went to the mechanics. The mechanic let it sit outside for months and that's where most of the surface rust has come from... We weren't happy about that. It's completely original except the wheels, tires, and period correct turn signals. The original wheels were a two piece design common on old military vehicles and were not the safest.

That truck is perfect. I love unrestored originals.

Wow, kind of dumb for the mechanic to do something like that, you'd figure he'd put a cover over it at least...

But either way, it still looks awesome, hahaha. I figured the wheels were original because they go with the truck so well!

They are OE style but aren't a two piece design. I think the new wheels and rechromed hubcaps look stellar with the rest of the original truck. Not in the picture are the yellow lens fog lamps that mount on the bumper. The original lamps were stolen off the truck in the 70s but we just recently found an original set in rough shape and are getting those into working shape. If you look closely in the pics you can see the mounting arms on the bumper.
